Sports Injury - Knee Patient

I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Foad back in Feb. 2021 when I tore my Meniscus in two places on my right knee. Up to that point, I had been an active in Cross Country, Soccer and Basketball. Both my Mother and Father had sport related injuries and subsequent positive outcomes with Dr. Foad as their surgeon so we contacted him for a consultation.
Dr. Foad was able to see me very quickly and went through all of the details of the procedure and I felt very good about the whole thing. Since I already knew him because of playing sports with his daughter, I was confident that he was going to go the extra mile to get me competing again and he did.
Dr. Foad made it clear it would be a long process but if I did everything he said I would be ready to play again in the timeframe he outlined. The surgery went great, and the staff were so nice to me. They made me feel like I was their only patient. In the coming weeks and months Dr. Foad would constantly check up on me as he was truly interested in my recovery. He seemed like he was almost as motivated as I was which I think is a good trait to have as a doctor.
After 36 weeks and 81 physical therapy visits I was ready to compete again and I owe it all to Dr. Foad and Candi Gardner who was a big part of my PT. She completed the team that got me to where I am now, and I am so appreciative of both. I am happy to say that I haven’t had any issues in almost 2 seasons of Varsity High School and AAU basketball, thank you Dr. Foad!
