Shoulder Injury

Shoulder Injury: I injured my left shoulder and was in chronic pain for two years. I saw an Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Quad Cities and he was short on time and conversation. I was left with more questions than answers and did not know if I really needed to have surgery or not. The attitude of the surgeon really was more arrogant than anything else.

I always heard about good results from Dr. Foad, who completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Olympic Training Center in Oslo, Norway, so I decided to give his office a call and set up an appointment. His office staff was very friendly and so was he. He took as much time as I needed to understand what my M.R.I. and physical exam really meant. He said I absolutely had to have surgery to repair my AC joint and tear or the pain will continue and only get worse.

I checked in at 9 A.M. at his surgery center and my wife was driving me home at 12:30 for lunch. I know if I had gone to a hospital it would have been an all-day affair so we were very thankful for the efficiency of his staff and center. After my surgery, Dr. Foad set up a nerve block for my pain which lasted many hours and helped alleviate the pain.

Dr. Foad referred me to an excellent physical therapist with a specific plan and he was spot-on with my post operative pain level and progression of healing. Three months later my shoulder is 100% and I just skied in Colorado for a week! I would highly recommend seeing Dr. Abdul Foad for any orthopaedic issue.
