Knee Patient - Sports Injury

William Hasken actionGrowing up I loved sports. Everything about them had an impact on my personality, and at the end high school, my mind was ready to keep playing but my left knee was not. Lasting knee pain made me question if collegiate athletics were even possible. However, after consultation with Dr. Foad, I felt relieved that I would not have to give up an integral part of my life. Upon meeting Dr. Foad I was immediately put at ease by his calming and friendly demeanor, the way he explained my injury in a way that I could understand, and his willingness to connect with me through experiences of his own. I underwent a knee scope in which Dr. Foad fixed the pain in my knee I had dealt with for the last three years. After which, I began my collegiate athletic career as a football player at Wartburg College. I am now a senior, have earned a varsity letter in each of my four seasons, have been a part of two separate conference championships, and maintained healthy knees all the while. Dr. Foad should be approached for his expertise in orthopedic surgery, but also for his willingness to go above and beyond to make his patients feel comfortable when faced with difficult injuries and procedures. Throughout the last four years he has continued to stay in contact, asking both the status of my knee and the status of our football team, making my health and continued success a major priority of his. If I would never have consulted him before I started college, it is likely I would have given up on a fundamental part of my life. Because of Dr. Foad however, I was able to participate and excel.
