Lesley Doran

Shoulder Patient

Last summer, I started to feel my range of motion diminish in my left shoulder.  As a busy mom of high schoolers, I brushed it off as soreness or just plain old age.  By the time we reached fall I couldn’t even raise my arm high enough to strap my bra.  By December, I couldn’t move my shoulder above 90 degrees and frequently felt sharp pains in the joint even with the slightest tap on my arm.

I met Dr. Foad through our kids’ youth track team and he was kind enough to talk with me about my shoulder (before I was even a patient of his).  He gave me advice and we set an appointment to get to the bottom of it.  It turned out that the damage I thought would need surgery was actually a Frozen Shoulder.  He treated me that day to a cortisone shot and referred me for physical therapy.  I am happy to say 6 months later, I am pain free and have regained complete motion.

Dr. Foad is a brilliant doctor, but more importantly he has a bed-side manner that is unmatched.  He is always available, always willing to help and backs up everything with a clear description of how he came to his diagnosis.  I recommend Dr. Foad to anyone in need of superior shoulder and knee care.
